If you come down to Peenya Industrial Estate, 1St Stage, you'll find us at Office No. B-14. It’s an industrial area, so it’s always loud with the sound of metal and trucks moving around. Bharath Precision Machine Tools has been operating out of this unit for a good bit. The floors are concrete and usually have some oil spots here and there. We deal with tools and machines, so our hands are rarely clean by the end of the day. There’s a specific smell to the place—grease and cold steel—that you just get used to. It's not a place for suits. We wear heavy clothes and spend most of the time on our feet. The office part is just a small corner with a desk and an old filing cabinet where we keep the invoices. We don’t have a receptionist; usually, you just hear the machines running when you walk in. Sometimes things break down and we have to spend hours fixing them, but that’s the job. Peenya can be a tough place with all the dust and the heat in the afternoons. We have a small kettle for making coffee when the energy dips. It’s hard work, and the parts we handle are heavy. We don't spend much on decorations because it's a workshop, really. People know us for being here and doing the work as it comes in.
