We are over in Basavangudi, specifically at the Jaya Nivas Hostel. Room No 32 is where we are based. It’s on the 28th 1st Cross in the Gavipuram Extension. It’s a busy part of Bangalore, full of students and people just starting out. The hostel has its own rhythm. You hear doors slamming and people talking in the hallways all the time. Our space is small, but it’s enough for what we need to do. Ayshath Fousiyanm is the name on the door. It’s a bit cramped when we have more than a couple of people in there, but we make it work. The 560019 area is great because everything you need is just a short walk away. We usually grab tea from the stall on the corner when we need a break. It isn't a professional office park with security guards. It’s just a room in a building where life is happening. Sometimes the laundry is hanging out to dry near the window, and the smells from the kitchen downstairs waft up around lunchtime. It’s a very real, very human place to be. We aren't trying to impress anyone with a lobby. We just have our desks and our equipment and we get to it. It’s a humble start, but it’s ours. We don't have much but we do have enough to keep the work moving along every single day.
