Clarence High School

Clarence High School has been a part of Richards Town for a really long time. If you walk down the streets around here, you’ll see the old trees and the quiet houses that make up this neighborhood. Our school fits right in with that vibe. The building has that old-fashioned look with thick walls and windows that sometimes get stuck if it's been raining. We don't have a big, shiny lobby or anything like that. When you walk through the gate, you’re pretty much right in the middle of everything. The staff room is always a bit of a mess with piles of homework and half-finished cups of coffee sitting on the tables. We spend most of our time just managing the day-to-day stuff. The bells ring, the kids move to the next class, and we try to keep things organized. Sometimes the power goes off and we just have to open the doors to let some light in. It’s not a polished environment, but it works for us. The stairs are made of wood and they make a lot of noise when a whole class is moving at once. We know most of the families in the area since their kids have been coming here for generations. It feels more like a local fixture than a business. We just keep showing up and doing what we’ve always done in this corner of the city.
