Our branch is situated on 5th Main in Vijaynagar. It is a lively enough area with plenty of shops and people moving around throughout the day. We are Citifinancial Consumer Finance India Ltd, and this office is our home base for this neighborhood. The building is pretty standard for the street. Inside, it is mostly just rows of desks and the hum of the air conditioner trying to keep up with the outside heat. We have a lot of regular tasks that keep us busy from morning until we close up. It is mostly about managing accounts and keeping the paperwork straight, which keeps us on our toes. The atmosphere is fairly relaxed, though. We aren't big on formalities here; we just want to get the job done right. We have a small corner where we keep the water cooler and a few magazines for anyone waiting. It is the kind of place where you hear the sounds of the city through the walls—traffic, vendors, and people talking. We have grown accustomed to the noise. Most of the staff has been here long enough that we could probably find everything with our eyes closed. It is not a place that tries to be something it is not. We just show up, do our work for the people in the community, and head home. It is a steady, predictable sort of life at this office, and that suits us just fine.
