Choppin Beauty Salons is situated at No. 81 on EAT Road in Basavanagudi. We are right next to the famous Puliyogare Point restaurant, so our shop always smells like tamarind and spices, which is both a blessing and a curse because it makes us hungry all day. EAT Road is famous for all the food stalls, so there is always a crowd of people walking around, especially in the evenings. N R Colony is a very settled neighborhood with a lot of families who have lived here for generations. Our salon is a place where local women come to get their hair done or maybe some henna. We have a few chairs and some simple equipment. It isn’t a very big place, and sometimes it gets a bit cramped when three or four people are waiting at the same time. We don't have any of those expensive massage chairs or fancy lighting systems. It’s just a plain room with good mirrors and a friendly atmosphere. We know most of our customers by their first names and we usually end up talking about the local news or what is happening in the market. It is a nice community to be part of. We keep our hours regular and try to be there whenever someone needs a quick touch-up before a family function.
