China Bazaar Gift Center

Running the China Bazaar Gift Center takes up most of my energy these days. We are situated at 2957-58 Gulab Palza, which is right near the Navrang Circle. Being on M K K Road in the 2nd stage of Rajajinagar means there is never a dull moment. The traffic outside is constant, and you can always hear the horns and the buses. Inside, the shop is packed with all sorts of items. We have shelves full of plastic toys, decorative lights, and kitchen gadgets. It’s a bit of a squeeze when more than three people come in at once. I try to keep the aisles clear, but new stock arrives every week and it just ends up in piles. Gulab Palza is an old building, so it has its quirks, like the squeaky door that I never get around to oiling. People come from all over the area looking for cheap gifts or household things they can’t find elsewhere. I usually have one or two boys helping me move boxes and serve customers. We don't have a computerized billing system or anything; I just write everything down in my book. It’s a lot of work staying on top of what we have in stock. The weekends are the most hectic, and I usually don’t get a chance to sit down until late at night.
