Chetana Packers & Movers has been operating out of number 791 in Vijaya Nagar for quite some time. We are situated in Tulsheth Balkaran Chawl, which is part of the Jai Shankar Nagar area. It’s a lively neighborhood, always something going on in the streets. We spend most of our time wrapping things in old newspapers or bubble wrap and taping up heavy cardboard boxes. It’s messy work. Your hands get dry from the cardboard and the tape always gets stuck to itself at the wrong moment. We started this because there’s always someone moving in or out of the chawls and apartments around here. Moving house is a lot of stress for people, so we just show up and start lifting the heavy cupboards and beds. Some of the stairs in Vijaya Nagar are really narrow, so carrying a fridge down three floors is a real workout for the guys. We don't use fancy software to track things, just a notebook where we write down the dates and the addresses. Sometimes we’re working late into the evening if a move takes longer than we thought. The traffic near Jai Shankar Nagar can get stuck for an hour easily. We just sit in the truck and wait it out. It isn't a glamorous job, but it keeps us busy and we like the routine of it. Most of our customers are just regular families from around the block who need a hand with their belongings and furniture.
