Caterpillar India Pvt Ltd is based at 804 in the AECS Layout in Bangalore. If you know this part of Karnataka, you know it’s a mix of houses and small businesses. Our spot is pretty easy to find once you get into the layout. We’ve been here for some time now, and the office has become a second home to most of us. It’s a standard office layout, nothing too fancy or modern. We have our desks, some old cupboards for storage, and a small kitchen area where we make tea. The windows look out onto the street, so we see the neighbors going about their business. It’s a fairly quiet area, which is good when we need to concentrate on our work. We deal with various things under the Caterpillar name here in India, mostly just administrative and coordination tasks. We aren't the type to have big meetings with fancy presentations. Usually, we just talk across the desks to figure things out. Sometimes the internet is a bit slow, but we manage. People often drop by without calling first, and that’s fine with us. It’s just how things go in this part of Bangalore. We try to keep the place tidy, but with all the papers and folders, it’s a bit of a struggle. It’s a practical, hardworking environment where we just focus on getting through the tasks we have for the day.
