Catering And Tiffin Services

We run this Catering And Tiffin Services out of our kitchen in the Kumara Park area. It’s a residential neighborhood, so it feels like a busy home kitchen. Every morning starts extremely early, before the sun is up, with chopping sounds and pressure cooker whistles. The kitchen gets hot and humid by eight o'clock when we're packing tiffin boxes. We don't have a fancy storefront or a menu with professional photos. It's just regular home-cooked food we send to office workers or people living alone. Floors are mopped constantly because of spills from cooking in bulk. The smell of spices and onions stays in our clothes and hair. We use heavy stainless steel containers that need a lot of scrubbing every afternoon. It’s physically demanding, and our backs often ache by the time the last delivery goes out. We don't use modern machines, just large pots and recipes we've used for generations. Sometimes things get hectic when delivery drivers arrive all at once, but we manage to get the boxes out on time. It's just a few of us making sure the neighborhood gets fed. We often have to run out to the local market for extra greens if the morning delivery is short. It’s a lot of running around, but we've been doing it for years now. No big branding, just honest cooking and cleaning up afterwards. We enjoy seeing the empty containers come back.
