Calcutta Victoria Chat Houses

We are located over in Koramangala VI Bk, specifically at Survey No 699 on Taboot street Road 151. It is honestly a bit of a hidden spot if you aren't actively looking for the sign. Calcutta Victoria Chat Houses is where we do our best to make the kind of snacks that we grew up eating. We have these large metal bowls sitting out, full of things like chickpeas, boiled potatoes, and different chutneys. My hands are usually cold from the ice or stained from the tamarind water by the end of the day. Koramangala is a very busy part of the city, but Taboot Street seems to have its own slower rhythm. We get a lot of students and office workers who are just looking for something quick and spicy to eat. We don't have a big menu with a lot of fancy names on it. We usually just tell people what we have ready for the day. The tamarind water is something we make fresh every single morning before we open. If the flavor isn't exactly right, we just won't serve it that day. The shop itself isn't very big at all, so people often end up standing out on the pavement to eat from their plates. It gets a bit messy sometimes with the paper plates, so we spend a lot of time sweeping the front area. We aren't a big chain restaurant. We are just a simple chat house at 151. We stay busy.
