About Biryani Wala – Food & Beverages in Bengaluru
Working at Biryani Wala in Whitefield 106 means dealing with a lot of heat and a lot of hungry people. The kitchen is where everything happens, and it is usually pretty loud with the sound of large pots being moved around. We go through a lot of rice every single day. You can smell the spices from all the way down the street before you even see the sign for number 106. During the lunch hour, it gets really hectic because of all the offices nearby. People come in wearing their ID badges and they are always in a hurry to get back. We try to keep up, but sometimes the line goes out the door and onto the pavement. The tables are basic and we do not spend much time on decorations because there is no point when it is this busy. Whitefield is always dusty from the construction and the traffic, so I am constantly wiping the front glass. By the time evening rolls around, I am usually exhausted, but there is still the dinner crowd to think about. We just focus on getting the food out and making sure the pots are scrubbed for the next day. It is a straightforward kind of place, just rice and meat and a lot of work. No one stays for long, they just eat and head back to their jobs or homes.
