Big Basket

Our hub for Big Basket is out at 5G, Bannerghatta Anekal Road in Jigani. We are located near Ittina Nagar, and it is a pretty big operation. This isn't a retail store where you can come in and browse the aisles. It is a warehouse where we manage all the crates and deliveries. From early in the morning, the place is buzzing with people moving boxes of fruits, vegetables, and groceries. We have a lot of cold storage areas to keep things fresh, so some parts of the warehouse are quite chilly even in the summer time. The floor is made of smooth concrete and there are rows and rows of metal shelving. We have a lot of delivery drivers coming in and out on their bikes and vans throughout the day. The road outside can get really clogged with traffic, so we have to be smart about when we send the trucks out to the city. It is a lot of physical work, lifting heavy bags and making sure the right items go into the right crates. We don't have any decorations on the walls or a lobby for visitors. It is just a place for work. We focus on getting the food from the farmers to the people in the city without wasting any time. Most of us who work here live in the nearby colonies and walk to the hub.
