Our place is down in Hebbagodi, right on the lane where the Jama Masjid is. You can’t miss it, the address is 63/1-671. At Bharath Cement Products, we spend most of our time mixing and molding things. There’s always gray dust everywhere, no matter how much we try to sweep it up. It just comes with the territory when you work with cement. We’ve got different molds sitting around the yard and bags of material stacked up against the walls. It’s a bit of a rough-and-ready setup, but it works for what we do. The lane outside can get a bit crowded when we’re loading up a delivery. We started out small and we’re still pretty much a local operation. We don’t have any marketing people or a fancy sales team. Usually, it’s just one of us answering the phone or talking to someone who walked in off the street. Some days are busier than others. When it rains, things slow down because it’s harder to dry everything out. We just take it day by day. The neighborhood around the mosque is lively, and we’ve become part of the scenery here over the years. It’s hard work, lifting heavy things and dealing with the heat, but it’s what we know how to do. We just focus on getting the items made and moved out to whoever needs them without any fuss or trouble.
