Bhagya Lakshmi Water Supply

Bhagya Lakshmi Water Supply sits right off Hessarghatta Road in T Dasarahalli. We’re on the 5th Cross, number 278. It’s a loud place because of the tankers coming and going. The ground is almost always a bit damp near the entrance. I’ve been working here long enough to know the names of almost every driver who passes by. We have a small desk where we keep the logbooks. They are getting pretty worn out from all the page-turning. In the mornings, it’s a bit of a rush. Everyone wants their water at the same time. We try to keep the tanks moving, but traffic on the main road can be a real pain. Sometimes the trucks get stuck for an hour just trying to turn. We keep a stash of tea and biscuits in the drawer for those long afternoons. It's not a glamorous job, just making sure the water gets where it needs to go. The neighborhood has grown a lot. There are so many new buildings now, and they all need water. We see the same faces every week. It’s a practical business. We don't have a fancy waiting room or anything like that. Just a bench outside under the shade if you need to wait. It works for us and it works for the people around here. We just keep the trucks clean and the water moving as best as we can every day.
