We’ve been here in Marenahalli for a long time, selling traditional Ayurvedic items and medicines. The shop always has a very specific smell—a mix of dried herbs, oils, and powders. It’s a small space, and the shelves are packed all the way to the ceiling with glass bottles and plastic jars. We spend most of our time weighing out ingredients or explaining how to use a particular root or leaf. It’s not a fast-paced business; people like to talk about their health for a while before they buy anything. Sometimes we run out of a specific herb because the supply from the hills is late, and we just have to tell customers to come back next week. We don't have fancy packaging or big neon signs. Most of our customers are locals who have been coming to us for years, and now their kids come too. My father used to sit behind the same counter, and not much has changed since then. We keep a ledger for the accounts and use an old fan that squeaks when it’s on the high setting. It’s a quiet life, mostly, just helping people find what they need for their wellness.
