Bhagavathi Condiments

Bhagavathi Condiments is tucked away in the Snr Arcade on Banneraghatta Road, right near the Ayyappa Temple Road at Jalahalli Cross. We are at Sm Road 1. Our shop is full of jars and packets of spices, powders, and those crunchy snacks people like to eat with rice. The air always smells like roasted chilies and mustard seeds. It makes some people sneeze when they first walk in. We grind a lot of our own mixes, so there’s always a bit of dust on the shelves. It’s a small shop, and it can get a bit cramped when more than three people are inside. We try to keep everything organized, but the jars of pickles always seem to take up more space than we have. We see a lot of people coming from the temple nearby or just folks living in the apartments around Jalahalli. We don't have a website or anything like that. We just open the shutters in the morning and wait for the regulars to stop by. Sometimes the stock runs low on the special spice blends, and we have to tell people to come back the next day. It’s a quiet life, mostly just measuring out grams and packing things in brown paper bags. We like the neighborhood, and it’s nice to see the same families coming back year after year. We keep the counter clean, but the spice dust is everywhere, and that is just part of being a condiment shop.
