Bennet Robin

Down at Akshay Electricals, things are always a bit hectic. My name is Bennet Robin and the shop is at 24/3, 3, right opposite Ferns City Gate on the Outer Ring Road. If you know Doddenekkundi or Marathahalli, you know how crazy the traffic can get out there. The noise from the ring road never really stops, but you get used to it after a few weeks. I spend most of my time surrounded by wires, bulbs, and all sorts of electrical parts. It’s not the cleanest place in the world, there is always a bit of dust and some boxes stacked in the corners. I don't have a receptionist or a waiting lounge. If you come in, you just talk to me across the counter. It’s a hands-on kind of job and my hands are usually a bit greasy or dusty by noon. Bangalore-37 is a busy area, so there is always someone popping in for a fuse or a length of wire. I’ve been doing this for a while now and I like the rhythm of it. It’s a real business for real people. No corporate talk here, just fixing things and selling what’s needed. The shop stays open late because that’s when people usually realize they have a problem at home. It’s just me and the shop, day in and day out. I wouldn't have it any other way because this is what I know.
