Bearing World

Our shop is down at 11 1 on Sadar Patrappa Road, which most people just call SP Road. If you know this area, you know how crowded it gets with all the shops selling hardware and electronics. We focus on bearings. We have shelves full of them in different sizes and types, all tucked away in boxes that have gathered a bit of dust. It is a small space, so things are piled up pretty high. Most of our day is spent looking through those boxes to find the exact part someone needs for their machine or vehicle. We get a lot of walk-ins, mostly mechanics or guys from local factories who know exactly what number they are looking for. It is noisy outside with the bikes and the shouting of the market, but inside it smells like oil and metal. We don’t really do any fancy advertising; we just stay here and wait for people to come by with their requirements. Sometimes we have to order things in if it’s a weird size we don’t keep in stock. We use an old fan to keep cool because the shop gets quite warm in the afternoons. It is a simple business, really. We just sell the parts that keep other things turning. We’ve seen the street change a lot over the years, but our little corner remains pretty much the same with the same old counters and the same busy atmosphere every single morning.
