Baldwin Girls' High School

Our school is located on Richmond Road in the Langford Gardens area, which is a pretty central part of the city. It is an old institution, and the buildings show that history with their stone walls and large windows. Because we are in such a busy area, the sounds of the city are always just outside the gates. We have a lot of students coming from all over, so the gates are always busy with buses and vans in the morning and afternoon. Inside, the corridors are wide, but they get very crowded between classes. We have a hall where we gather, and the wooden floors there have a particular creak that everyone knows. The teachers here are quite strict about the rules, but they have to be with so many girls to look after. We don't have the newest computers or anything like that, but we have a library with a lot of old books that the students use for their reports. It is not a place for showing off; it is more about the daily routine of lessons and homework. During the rainy season, the trees on the property drop a lot of leaves, and it keeps the ground staff busy cleaning up. It is a solid, old-fashioned place that hasn't changed its way of doing things in a long time. We just keep our heads down and focus on getting through the school year without too much trouble.
