Baldwin Boys High School

Baldwin Boys High School sits right at No.14 in Richmond Town, just off Hosur Rd. If you know that part of town, you know it gets busy with all the traffic coming and going. The school has been standing there for a lot of years. It’s a big place for the boys to run around. Sometimes the noise from the street gets in, but mostly it’s just the sound of bells and kids shouting during their breaks. We have those old corridors that have seen a lot of footsteps. It’s a bit of a maze if you aren’t used to it. The staff room is usually a mess of papers and half-drunk tea cups. We don't have a lot of bells and whistles here. It's just a regular school where the boys learn their subjects and play a bit of sport when the weather allows it. Most of the parents work nearby or commute down Hosur Rd every day. We see them at the gate every morning and afternoon. The building is old, so something always needs a bit of a touch-up or a repair. We don't mind it much. It feels like home to most of us who spend ten hours a day here. It’s just how things are at No.14. We do the work, look after the boys, and head home when the sun starts to go down.
