Our office for Ashok Consultancy is at number 24 on 2nd Cross in Gandhigrama. We are right across from the Malleswaram Railway Station, which is very convenient for anyone taking the train. You can hear the whistles and the sound of the tracks throughout the day. It’s a very old and established part of Bangalore. Our space is small and filled with books and files that have gathered over the years. We don't have a lot of modern decor. It’s mostly just wooden tables and old chairs that are still comfortable enough to work in. We spend our days answering the phone and talking to people who drop by. Being near the station means there’s a lot of foot traffic outside. We’ve become a part of the local scenery here. We don't use much technology beyond the basics. We find that talking to people face to face works better than sending a hundred emails. Sometimes the traffic in Malleswaram makes it hard to get around, so we mostly stay put in the office. We aren't a big firm with hundreds of employees. It’s just a few of us who know the business well. We like the quiet rhythm of our work and the familiar faces of the commuters passing by every morning and evening. The tea guy comes by at eleven every day, and that’s when we take our break. It’s a simple, steady routine that keeps the business running without much fuss.
