We are set up in the Vidya Sagar area of Bangalore, right by Rabbani Medicals. It’s a good landmark because everyone knows where the pharmacy is. Ascent Staffing Solutions isn’t a huge operation. We mostly work out of a few rooms where we handle all the staffing requests that come our way. Bangalore is full of people looking for jobs, so our phones never really stop ringing. The office is pretty basic. We have some plastic chairs for people to sit in while they wait and a few desks for us to work at. It’s a bit of a squeeze when it’s busy, but it keeps things interesting. We don’t have a big corporate sign, just the address and the name on the door. The neighborhood is always busy, with people coming and going from the shops. We spend our time looking at resumes and calling up companies to see what they need. It’s a lot of talking and a lot of listening. We don’t use any fancy software to pick people; we just look at their experience and talk to them like real human beings. It’s a more personal way of doing things. Sometimes we stay late to finish up the paperwork, especially when there’s a big project starting. It’s a practical, no-nonsense kind of place. We just focus on getting the right people into the right spots without making it more complicated than it needs to be.
