Arya Bhangy

You can find us at B-1 on Residency Road. Arya Bhangy is a name that's been around for quite a bit. Being on Residency Road means we see a lot of people coming and going. Our place is more of a traditional setup. We work with wood and doors, mostly. It’s a craft that takes a lot of patience. If you come inside, you’ll smell the wood and the varnish right away. It’s a distinct smell that we’ve all grown used to. We have a small staff and most of us have been working with our hands for decades. We don’t use a lot of high-tech gadgets; it’s more about the hand tools and the eye for detail. Sometimes a piece of wood doesn’t want to cooperate, and you just have to spend more time on it. We aren't interested in being the biggest company in town. We just want to make sure the things we build last a long time. It’s quiet in the back where the work happens, though the street outside is always noisy. We’ve seen the city change a lot from our spot here. But inside these walls, things stay pretty much the same. We take our time, do the work, and hope people like what they see. It's a simple way to run a business, but it works for us. We've stayed here because it feels like home and the work matters.
