We've been here on Vittal Mallya Road for a while now, right next to the Shell Petrol Bunk. It's a busy spot in Bangalore, and you can always hear the traffic outside while we're working. Most days start around ten when we pull up the shutters and get the towels ready. The place isn't huge, but we make it work with the spa rooms in the back and the salon chairs up front. It gets a bit crowded on weekends when everyone in the neighborhood decides they need a haircut at the exact same time. We usually have a radio playing somewhere in the background, mostly just local stations or whatever the staff likes that day. People drop in after filling up their cars at the bunk or just because they live nearby. It's mostly regular faces we see. The floor gets covered in hair pretty fast, so someone is always sweeping. Sometimes the tea guy from down the street comes by, and we take a quick break if it’s not too busy. It’s just a normal workplace, nothing too fancy even if the name sounds a bit like it is. We do our work, talk to the customers about the weather or the road construction nearby, and then clean up everything before heading home in the evening. It’s a good little space we have here, right in the middle of all the city noise, and we just try to keep things running smoothly day after day.
