Arabian Night

You can find us at Mahathma Gandhi Road 72. Being on MG Road means it’s always busy outside. We’ve been here for a while, serving people who are out shopping or heading to the metro. Arabian Night isn't a huge place, but we have enough room for a decent crowd. We have some lights hanging up to give it a bit of a look, but they’re just regular bulbs we bought nearby. The kitchen has a big rotisserie that spins all day long. You can smell it from the sidewalk. It gets pretty hot in there, especially in the afternoons when the sun hits the front of the shop. Our staff is mostly young guys who can move fast because the customers are usually in a hurry. We get a lot of tourists too, who look a bit lost and just want something they recognize. We don't have a lot of frills. The napkins are those thin paper ones and the cups are plastic. It saves us time on washing up when things get frantic. Sometimes the music is a bit loud, but it keeps the energy up for the staff. We don't have a parking lot, so people have to find a spot on the side streets and walk over. It’s just how it is in this part of town. We stay open until the street gets quiet, which is usually quite late. It’s a lot of work keeping things moving every day.
