The lab at Aquadiagnostics Water Research Technology Centre is tucked away in Hosur Layout, right near the New Cloth Market at number 57. It’s a practical location because we are close to where a lot of people are working. Inside, things are mostly kept very clean because that is just how water research and testing have to be. We have all sorts of glass tubes, meters, and testing kits scattered across the benches. It’s not a place for lounging around; there is always a sample that needs checking or a report that needs some numbers filled in. The smell of the lab is something you just get used to, a mix of chemicals and distilled water. We aren't trying to be the biggest center in the world, just a reliable place where someone can bring a bottle of water and find out what is actually in it. The staff here mostly wears lab coats and spends a lot of time looking through eyepieces or at digital displays. Sometimes the equipment acts up and we have to spend the whole afternoon fixing a sensor, which can be frustrating but that’s just how technology is. Outside, the market is always buzzing with people buying fabric and clothes, which is a big contrast to the quiet work we do in here. We like the balance of being in a busy area but having our own little space for science and testing.
