We operate out of R T Nagar, specifically near the Radhakrishna Theatre on 1st Main Road. The way we work is a bit different because we don't really have a place for people to come sit down. Instead, we go to them. Most of our days are spent on the road, heading to different houses in and around the 1st Cross area. Carrying all the beauty kits and equipment up and down apartment stairs is a workout in itself. My partner and I usually split the appointments. We know the area around the theatre very well because we’ve lived and worked here for a long time. The traffic near the main road can be a nightmare in the evenings, so we always try to leave a bit early for our bookings. Sometimes a client’s house is easy to find, and other times we are circling the block looking for the right door number. It’s a lot of manual labor, doing facials or threading in someone’s living room or bedroom. We have to be careful with our supplies and make sure nothing spills in our bags while we are riding. It’s not a glamorous job, but it’s what we do. We meet all kinds of families this way. It feels more personal being in people's homes rather than a cold shop. We just do our work, pack up our kits, and then head to the next house on the list.
