Anupama Satish Beauty House

Our beauty house is located in the 3rd Stage of Basaveshwara Nagar, over in the 2nd Block at number 336. It is a quiet enough street, mostly residential, which is nice for the ladies who come by. We wanted a place that felt like home, not a clinical shop. There is always the smell of rose water or hair oil in the air. We spend our days doing threading, waxing, and hair treatments. It is a lot of standing on our feet, but the time goes by fast when the shop is full. People from the neighborhood stop in, sometimes with an appointment and sometimes just hoping we have a free chair. We have a few mirrors set up and some shelves for the different lotions and powders we use. The lighting isn't always perfect, but we make it work. We talk a lot while we work—about kids, the market, or just the weather. It is a space where people can relax for an hour or so. Sometimes the power goes out, and we have to open the door to let the light in from the street. It is not a big corporate salon; it is just a local spot where we know most of our clients by name. We have been in this part of Basaveshwara Nagar for a while now, and we have seen the families here grow up. It is just us doing what we know how to do, day after day, keeping the place tidy.
