Antiquity Charming Ladies Parlour

Girls School Street is usually pretty quiet compared to the rest of Bangalore. Our place, Antiquity Charming Ladies Parlour, is at No.21/2, right across from Tata Coffee Ltd. If you’ve lived in Kumara Park West for a while, you probably know the area well. We’ve been here in this building for some time now, just doing hair and basic beauty things for the ladies in the neighborhood. It’s not a very big shop, but it’s comfortable enough for someone to come in and relax for a bit while they get their eyebrows done or a haircut. The morning starts with us cleaning the mirrors and making sure everything is tidy before the first customer arrives. Being near the Girls School means we see a lot of people walking by in the afternoons when school lets out. Sometimes the smell of coffee from across the road drifts over when it's breezy. We don't try to be anything we aren't; we just provide a place for women to take care of themselves. It’s mostly regular faces from the apartments around here. We talk about the weather, the local news, and how the street has changed. It feels more like a community spot than just a business. Most of the time, it’s just the sound of the fans and some light chatter while we work through the day. We stay open until the evening when the street gets dark and things finally settle down.
