We’ve been here at 1 BTM Layout for a while now. It’s a busy spot, mostly because of the traffic coming off the main road, but we like the energy. Most days start with opening the shutters and sweeping the front step before the sun gets too high. Inside, it’s nothing fancy. Just a desk, some chairs, and whatever we are working on that week. People often stop by just to ask for directions because we’re right at the start of the layout. We don’t mind. It’s part of being in this neighborhood. The room stays a bit cool in the mornings, which is nice before the computers get going. Sometimes the power goes out, and we just sit outside for a bit until it comes back. It isn’t some corporate office with glass walls. It’s just us. We’ve got a small kettle in the back for tea, and that’s basically our break room. BTM is a loud place, full of students and people rushing to work, but once you step inside our door, it’s a bit quieter. We spend a lot of time looking at screens and talking over things. Sometimes we argue about where to get lunch, but usually, we just end up at the small place around the corner. It’s a simple way to run things, but it works for us. We just focus on getting the day's tasks done and heading home when the traffic starts picking up again.
