The team here isn’t very big, so we all know each other’s business. It is dusty, loud, and definitely not fancy. People around the neighborhood know where we are if they need concrete for a small driveway or a bigger project. We don’t have time for computers or making things look nice on paper. The yard is almost always piled high with sand and gravel. By the time the shift ends, we’re all pretty tired and covered in grey dust. We just try to keep the machinery going and our customers satisfied without any big fuss. If you walk past the gate on 12th Cross, the sound of the mixers is usually going.
