A-1 Salon

My shop is at 45 on the 1st main road in Bhuvaneshwari Nagar. It is right opposite Hotel Ashoka which is quite famous around here. A-1 Salon is a small name for a small place. I’ve been working here for quite some time now. The street is usually full of people going to the hotel for food. I can often smell the sambar and vadas from across the road. It makes me hungry in the afternoons. The shop has two main chairs and a bench for people to wait. I don't have a TV or anything. People just sit and talk or look at their phones. I do mostly hair cuts and head massages. The scissors make a rhythmic sound that I like. Sometimes the sink gets clogged because of all the hair and I have to fix it myself. Bhuvaneshwari Nagar is a good place with decent people. They don't demand much. I try to keep the mirrors clean so they can see the cut clearly. The light in here is a bit yellow because of the old bulbs. I should probably change them but they still work. In the rainy season the water splashes near the door so I have to keep a mat there. It is just a regular shop where I spend my days. Most of my regulars have been coming to me for years and we know each other's families well. I don't plan on moving anywhere else as long as I can keep working here.
