Saish Marbles And Granites is located at No 672/1 on Khanapur Road. It is a straightforward kind of place where we keep our stone. The road outside is usually busy with traffic, so there is always some noise. We spend most of our time out in the yard among the rows of marble and granite slabs. When you work with stone, you realize how much weight is involved in everything you do. Every piece we move takes some effort and a bit of care. We have a small crew here who knows how to handle the material without too much fuss. Customers walk in from the street, often looking for something specific for a bathroom or a staircase. We don't have a big showroom with lights and air conditioning. It’s just us and the slabs. We talk to people about what they are building and show them what we have in the stacks. Sometimes they find exactly what they want, and sometimes they have to look through a few different piles to get the right shade. We try to keep the place organized, but with stone moving in and out, it is a constant job. The weather affects us too; when it’s hot, the stone gets warm to the touch, and when it rains, everything gets a bit slippery. We just take it as it comes. It is a local business and we know a lot of the people who live around here.
