Hotel Ganesh Darshini

We set up Hotel Ganesh Darshini on Apmc Road in the Sadashiv Nagar area of Belgaum. We're situated right opposite the Indian Oil Petrol Pump. It’s a good spot because people filling up their cars often see us and decide to stop for the night. The area is quite busy with all the trucks and commercial traffic from the APMC market. It's not the quietest place, but it’s definitely lively. We have a few rooms and they stay pretty busy throughout the week. I spend most of my day making sure the hallways are swept and the water tanks are full. We don't have a big staff, so we all end up doing a bit of everything. One minute I'm checking someone in, the next I'm checking why a light bulb burned out. It’s just how it goes here. The rooms have the basic stuff. A bed, a small table, maybe a chair if there's room. We don't have fancy decorations or expensive art. People come here because they need a place to stay that isn't too expensive and is near the main road. We know most of the regular drivers who pass through. Sometimes they stay for a chat and tell us about the roads. It’s a decent life. We just try to be helpful when we can. If the petrol pump across the street is busy, we know we'll probably have a busy night too. We just keep the lights on for everyone.
