Mecon Ltd Contractual

Out here in Madanpur village, things definitely move at a different pace than the big cities. We are based in Kapista, which is part of the Burdwan district in West Bengal. It is a very rural area, so you see a lot of green fields and open space before you finally get to our spot. Since this is a contractual setup, our work changes quite a bit depending on what projects are currently running in the region. The roads are not always the best, especially when the monsoon rains hit, but we manage to get where we need to go. Our office is not something you would find in a skyscraper. It is a practical space designed for utility and getting things done on the ground. We deal with many local people and laborers who come by to check on their assignments or pick up paperwork. There is a small market nearby where we get our lunch and basic supplies. Sometimes the power goes out for a while, so we just wait it out or do what we can manually with pens and ledgers. People in the village know us by name. It is not about being some big brand; it is just about being part of the community and making sure the contracts are handled properly. My desk is near the window, and I can see the trees while I work. It is mostly quiet, except for the birds and the occasional tractor passing by.
