Tass International

Out in Rajballavpur, near Maslandapur, is where we set up Tass International. We are under the Habra police station area in the 24 Parganas North district. It’s a bit of a trek from the main city, but it’s where we belong. Despite the fancy-sounding name, we are just a local bunch of workers. The area around here is quite green and it feels a lot different than the crowded streets of Kolkata. We’ve been working from this location for a few years now. The office is pretty basic—just some desks, chairs, and a lot of paperwork. We don't have a big sign outside or a glass building. Most of our work involves coordinating things between different places, so we spend a lot of time on our phones and looking at logistics. It can be a bit stressful when shipments are delayed or when the rain blocks the roads, which happens quite a bit during the monsoon season. We know the local roads like the back of our hands though. People in the village know us as the guys who are always busy with their crates and calls. We aren't trying to change the world or anything; we just want to make sure the business stays steady. It’s a lot of back-and-forth, but we like being part of the community here in Habra. It’s home for us, and that’s what matters most.
