Friends Computer

Out here in Goaldaha, things move a bit slower than in the city. Friends Computer is located right in the village post area, not far from the Swarupnagar police station. It’s a small shop, but we keep ourselves busy with whatever people in Basirhat need help with. Dealing with computers out here in 24 Parganas North can be a challenge sometimes, especially with the power cuts or the dust during the summer months. We started this place because people shouldn't have to travel all the way into the main city just to get a screen fixed or a printer working again. It’s mostly just us sitting behind the counter, looking at parts or trying to figure out why a machine won't boot up. It gets a little crowded in here when a few people come in at once to chat or wait for their repairs. We have a couple of old chairs for anyone waiting. It’s a local place through and through. Everyone knows everyone around here, so we hear all the news while we work. We don't have a big sign or anything flashy, just the name on the front. Sometimes we stay open late if a job is tough or if someone really needs their laptop back for school the next day. It’s just honest work. We like being part of the community here and helping out where we can with whatever tech problems pop up.
