Suman Hair Cutting Saloon & Gents Parlour

My shop, Suman Hair Cutting Saloon & Gents Parlour, is located in Noapara, Barasat. Specifically, we are on Noapara Kalibari Road. It is a decent spot near the temple. I have lived in this part of Kolkata all my life, so opening a business here felt like the right thing to do. The shop is a gents parlour, so we mostly focus on men’s haircuts and beard grooming. It is a straightforward place. I don't like a lot of clutter, so I keep the counter clear and the tools organized. We have a couple of chairs and the lighting is good enough for me to see what I’m doing. Being on Kalibari Road, we get a lot of people who are visiting the temple or just living nearby. I try to make sure everyone feels welcome when they walk in. It is not a high-end place with leather sofas, just some sturdy chairs and a bench for waiting. I take pride in the fact that I do the work myself. I don’t like to delegate the cutting to someone else because I want to make sure it is done right. We have a small television in the corner that is usually on the news or a cricket match. It’s a very normal, local shop for the men of Noapara to get their hair cut and maybe have a bit of a chat. The hours are long but I enjoy the work and the people I meet every day.
