Saloon Odessa

Saloon Odessa is situated over by the Rajarhat Station area, specifically at Kathgola in Baguihati. If you take the 211 bus, you’ll pass right by us on the route. It’s a lively spot with a lot of commuters moving through. Our shop is small, and the walls have a few posters on them that have been there for years. We have the usual barber chairs and some old cabinets where we keep the towels and sprays. The floor is often covered in hair because we stay busy throughout the afternoon. People from the station often drop in for a quick shave before heading home. It’s not the quietest place because of the buses and the traffic outside. We have a radio that plays music or the news in the background. Sometimes we run out of change, so we have to ask people to check their pockets. The neighborhood is full of small shops just like ours. We’ve seen the area change a lot over the years, with more buildings going up. But inside here, things stay mostly the same. The scissors clink, and the spray bottle mists the air. We don't have a website or anything like that. If you want a haircut, you just walk in and wait for an empty chair. It’s a simple way of doing things. We stay open late enough for the workers coming off the last buses. It's just part of life here in Kolkata 700135.
