Raja Hindusthani Hair Cutting Saloon is situated in the Narayanpur area, right by Battala in Rajarhat Gopalpur. This part of the city has been changing a lot lately, but our shop is still the same simple place it has always been. We are a small local establishment that caters to the people living in and around Narayanpur. The shop is not very big, just enough space for a couple of barbers to work and a few customers to sit and wait. We keep things very basic. There are some old pictures on the walls and a simple shelf for our sprays and powders. The light inside isn't the brightest, but we know our way around a pair of scissors well enough. On most days, you will find a few local guys hanging around, just chatting while they wait for their turn. It is a friendly place where everyone knows each other’s business. We open up quite early in the morning when the air is still a bit cool. By midday, it gets pretty hot, but we just keep going. We don't have a big corporate name or anything like that. We are just a neighborhood saloon where you can get a decent haircut for a fair price. We take pride in our work, even if it’s just a simple job. It is how we make our living and how we stay connected to the folks here in Battala.
