Rahaman Saloon

We have been here on Badu Road in Madhyamgram for quite a while now. Rahaman Saloon is just a regular place where people come when they need a haircut or a quick shave. It isn't anything fancy or decorated, but we keep the floor swept and do the work people ask for. Most of our customers live right around here in this part of Kolkata, so we know many of them by their faces and names. Sometimes the shop gets a bit busy on weekends, so people have to sit on the wooden bench for a bit. We try to get through everyone without rushing too much. My uncle started this business years ago and now we just keep it going as best as we can. It is a simple shop with basic chairs and old mirrors. We do not have those big fancy chairs you see in malls. We just use what works. People come in, chat about the local news or the heat, and get their hair done. It is mostly just neighborhood talk here. We do not do anything too complicated, just the usual cuts most men in the area want. The lights flicker sometimes if the rain is very heavy outside, but that is just how it is in this town. We are easy to find if you are walking down Badu Road. Just look for the old blue sign. We open early most days because people like to come before they head off to work. We do not have a website or anything like that. We just stay here and wait for whoever walks through the door.
