Kishorebain

Kishorebain is the name, and the office is located at 23/9 Ghola Kachari Road in the Purbasha neighborhood of Barasat. Being here in Kolkata, especially this far out, means things move at a slightly different pace than the main city. The building is right on the main road, so we hear the rickshaws and buses going past all day long. It’s a bit of a walk from the station, but it’s a nice enough area. Purbasha is a quiet residential spot mostly, so having a business here means we see the same neighbors every morning. The interior is just basic. I have a wooden table and a few plastic chairs for visitors. We don’t have air conditioning, so the ceiling fans stay on high speed most of the year. The post office and the police station aren't too far away, which makes certain errands easier to handle. Barasat has grown a lot lately, and there are more shops popping up around Ghola Kachari Road every month. We’ve been here since before many of those opened. It’s a straightforward place where we just focus on the tasks at hand. There aren't any fancy decorations on the walls, just a calendar and some maps. Sometimes the rain gets quite heavy and leaks a little through the window frame, but we just put a towel down and keep going. It’s just a normal local spot. Most days are pretty much the same here.
