Dipali Ladies Beauti Parlor is located over in Pathar Ghata, which is part of the Rajarhat area here in Kolkata. I started this small place because I wanted to work for myself and help the local women around here. It’s not a huge setup, just a simple room where ladies can come to get their eyebrows done or maybe a hair wash. Living and working in Rajarhat, you get to know everyone on the street. Most of my regulars live just a few houses away. They stop by when they have a little free time from their housework or after they pick up their kids. I don’t use any big words to describe what I do. It’s just basic beauty work. I make sure the mirrors are clean and the towels are fresh every day. Sometimes it gets a bit quiet in the afternoons, so I sit and wait for the evening when more people finish their work. The address is 700135, and Pathar Ghata is a place where everyone knows each other. I like being here because it feels safe and friendly. I handle everything myself, from sweeping the floor to doing the actual threading or facials. It’s hard work being on your feet, but it’s okay. I don’t have a big staff or anything like that.
