Saha Bricks

Saha Bricks is located out in Vill- Hat Krishnanagar, which is under the Patrasayer police station area. It’s a rural spot and life moves a bit slower out here than it does in the big cities. We spend our days out in the fields where we dig the mud and set the bricks out to dry in the sun. It is a seasonal kind of job because when the monsoons come, everything has to stop for a bit. The ground gets too soft and the rain just washes away all the hard work if we aren't careful. We have been in Hat Krishnanagar for a long time and everyone in the village knows us. We don't use much fancy machinery, mostly just our hands and some basic tools that have been around forever. It’s back-breaking work and you are always covered in dirt by lunchtime. We eat our meals together under the shade of a tree and then get right back to it. There isn't much to see out here except for the rows of bricks and the smoke from the kiln when it's firing. We don't have a website or a marketing person. People just come to the yard and tell us how many bricks they need for their house or their farm. We just write it down in a notebook and try to get it done on time. That is the way we have always done things.
