Turbo Tube

If you come out to the Kosmi Industrial Area, you’ll find us at Turbo Tube. The shop floor is usually pretty loud because of the machines running. We make different types of tubes here. It’s mostly metalwork, so there is always that smell of oil and cut steel in the air. The guys are usually covered in a bit of grease by noon. We don’t have a showroom or anything like that. It’s just a production space where we get orders filled. Some days the machines run perfectly, and other days we have to stop everything to fix a belt or clear a jam. It’s just part of the routine. We started small and just kept at it. Most of our work goes out to other businesses who need parts for their own projects. The industrial area can be a bit rugged, especially during the monsoon when the roads get muddy. We keep a small office space partitioned off from the main floor so we can hear ourselves speak when the phone rings. It’s a basic operation. We focus on the specs we get and try to keep the scrap pile from getting too big. Lunch breaks are usually taken right there on the benches. It’s a gritty job, but it’s steady. We don't worry about being fancy, we just focus on making sure the tubes are the right size before they go out.
