If you’re driving down National Highway No. 8, you might see our place at 57, GIDC Industrial Area in Motipura. It’s right there where all the trucks rumble past all day and night. The vibration from the highway is something you just get used to after a week or two. We work on all sorts of weighing scales and engineering bits. Some are huge for the big rigs, and some are small for shops. The dust from the road gets into everything, so we’re constantly wiping down the sensors and the glass. It’s a practical kind of job. We don't have any fancy mission statements or big posters on the walls. Mostly it’s just calendars and some old photos of the family. We start early because the heat on the highway gets bad by noon. My nephew helps me with the books, but he’s usually out back helping with the repairs. We keep a lot of spare parts in the back room, though it’s a mess and only I know where anything is. People stop by because they’re passing through or because they’ve used us for years. We aren't looking to grow into some massive firm. We just want to make sure the scales are accurate and the customers are treated fair. It’s just a normal day at the shop and we wouldn't have it any other way. We just keep on going.
