We’ve been here at 72, Krishnammal Street for a good while now. It’s a quiet enough spot in K.K. Pudur, though the morning traffic can get a bit loud when everyone is heading to work. Our building isn’t one of those glass and steel things you see in the big parks. It’s more of a functional place where we get things done. Scan Machineries Pvt. Ltd. is basically a bunch of us working with metal and parts every day. You walk in and you’ll see some grease on the floor and a lot of steel sitting around waiting to be turned into something. It’s not a fancy showroom. Most of the guys here have been with us for years, so we all know how the machines sound when they’re running right. Sometimes the roof leaks a little when the rain gets really heavy, but we just put a bucket down and keep going. We don’t really have a big reception area or anyone in a suit waiting to greet you. Usually, someone will just look up from their desk or a lathe and ask what you need. It’s just how we operate. We spend most of our time looking at drawings and making sure the dimensions are what they should be. It’s honest work and it keeps us busy from Monday to Saturday. Usually, we're out of here by six unless a big order is going out.
