Sayed Plastic & Engg Works

We are tucked away in Gala 3A of the Russi Mehta Industrial Estate. It’s a busy spot on R.S. Nimkar Marg. Sayed Plastic & Engg Works has been running for years. The sound of the machines is pretty much constant from morning until late evening. We deal with a lot of plastic molding and small engineering jobs. The floor is usually covered in some kind of material or scraps. It’s a practical space, not a showroom. We get local clients mostly. People come in with a part they need fixed or a design for a plastic piece. It gets hot in the gala during the summer months. We just open the doors and keep the fans going. The neighborhood is full of small workshops like ours, so there is always someone moving metal or plastic around. We know most of the neighbors. My father started this, and now we just keep the tradition going. We don’t have a big office or anything. It’s just the workshop and a small desk for paperwork. Every day is different, depending on what the machines are doing. Sometimes the molds need a lot of tinkering to get right. We don't mind the hard work. It's just what we do here in this part of town. The floor is a bit uneven in places, and we've got stacks of plastic crates piled up near the entrance. It's crowded, but we know where every tool is. We don't use fancy computer systems for everything; a lot is still written in logbooks for our records.
