Saumil Trading Co.

Saumil Trading Co. operates out of 64, Arti Tenaments in Ghatlodiya. It’s more of a residential-style building that we’ve turned into our workspace, so it has a very casual feel to it. We are tucked away near Gaurinagar Society, which makes it feel like we are part of a community rather than just a business. The front room is where we do most of our trading work, and the back rooms are used for storage. It’s often a bit cramped because we keep getting more stock than we have shelf space for. We don’t have a big sign outside, just a small one near the gate. Every day is a bit different depending on what needs to be bought or sold. We spend a lot of time on the phone, often shouting over the noise of the neighborhood kids playing outside. Ghatlodiya is a busy area, but our little street is usually manageable. We don’t have a cleaning crew or anything like that, so we all take turns keeping the place tidy. It’s a very low-key operation. We know our customers well, and many of them stop by just to have a chat and a cup of tea. We don’t use any complicated software or systems; we mostly rely on our notebooks and a few simple spreadsheets. It’s a honest way to make a living, and we’ve been doing it this way for years without feeling the need to change.
