Sakthivel Elcomp

Sakthivel Elcomp is over in Ashok Nagar, right on 53rd Street at number 60. It’s a busy neighborhood, so there’s always something happening outside the door. We deal with electronic components, which means our shop is full of thousands of tiny parts stored in little plastic drawers. If you’re looking for a specific capacitor or a resistor, we probably have it tucked away somewhere, though finding it might take a minute if the shop is busy. It’s the kind of place where hobbyists and repair guys come to find that one specific piece they need for a circuit board. The lighting inside is a bit bright because you need to be able to read the tiny print on the components. We have a counter where we spend most of our time counting out parts and putting them into small paper bags. Sometimes people come in with a broken device and ask us what might be wrong, and while we aren't a repair shop, we usually have a good idea of what part they might need. The street outside can be quite noisy with scooters and people walking by, but inside it’s mostly just the sound of the drawers opening and closing. We keep a small radio playing in the background to pass the time. It’s a simple business, just keeping track of all those little bits and pieces. Things get a bit cluttered, but we manage.
